Frank J. Karako, age 97, lifelong resident of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Frances Preneta Karako, passed away October 5, 2015 at Griffin Hospital, Derby. Frank was born in Shelton, July 30, 1918, son of the late Geza and Lillian Hecko Karako. During his life, he owned and operated Karako's Package Store of Shelton. He also worked for Chance Vought during WWII where he helped build the Chance Vought F4U Corsair fighter plane and worked as a supervisor for the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation Tolls Division. He was a member of the Valley Liquor Store Association, an avid drummer, and loved going out on his boat. He is survived by his daughters, Margie Miles of Shelton, Joan Hunt and her husband Lance of Oxford, and Nancy Williams and her husband Ron of Florida; his grandchildren, Christopher Miles and his wife Missy, Robert Miles, and Denise Smith and her husband Jeff; his great grandchildren, William and Morgan Miles, and Brian Smith.
