Joseph J. Correia, age 62 of Shelton, beloved husband of Kathy Mazerolle Correia, passed away January 20, 2018. Joseph was born in Derby, October 10, 1955, son of the late John and Louise Rosa Correia. During his life, he worked as a self-employed sheetrocker for many years until his retirement. He was an active member of the Sutter Terlizzi Sons of the American Legion Post 16 of Shelton and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New York Giants fan. Besides his beloved wife Kathy, he is survived by his children, Justin, Paul, and Rachel Correia all of Shelton, his siblings Jack Correia and his companion Sharon Lobert of Jackson, MS, Jim Correia and his wife Carmella and their children Meaghan and Jimmy of Seymour, Janet Swanson and her husband Dave of Palm Coast, FL, Jay Correia and is companion Patricia Shelomis and his children Jay, Robert, and Kelsey of Shelton, Jeffrey Correia of Milford, Jerry Correia of Shelton, and Jean Correia and her husband Dave Birch and their children Carson and Walker of Sullivan, NH. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Jeanette Mazerolle, and his loving dogs Penny, Lucas, and Floki. Calling hours will be held Saturday January 27th from 3 PM to 6 PM at the James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave., Shelton. Interment will be private.
