Lydia M. Bures RN, age 92 of Holyoke, MA, formerly of Shelton, wife of the late Emil Bures, passed away June 16, 2013 at the Soldiers' Home, Holyoke, MA. Lydia was born in Derby, April 14, 1921, daughter of the late Joseph and Lydia Mica Menustik.Lydia graduated from Bellevue Hospital of Nursing, New York, NY in 1943 as a Registered Nurse. She was a First Lieutenant serving in the United States Army serving in the Pacific Theater in the Army Nurse Corps during WWII. After WWII, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation Center for many years until her retirement. She is survived by a son, William Bures of Norfolk, CT; daughter Ann Sikorski of North Hampton, MA; and grandchildren Kimberly and Kristi Sikorski. She was predeceased by brother Robert Menustik.Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 19 at St. Michael's Cemetery, Ansonia.
