Frederick Maseizik, age 82 of Oxford, beloved husband of the late Adella Ann Castle, passed away January 1, 2017.  Frederick was born in Scranton, PA, October 7, 1934, son of the late Frederick L. and Elizabeth Fleischer Maseizik.  Frederick served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and later worked as an aerospace technician for Avco Lycoming Textron of Stratford for many years until his retirement.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed splitting wood and riding his quad on many different levels.  He was a member of the American Relay Radio League, the Ansonia Rod & Gun Club, and the NRA.  He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Maseizik of Shelton, and Nancy Capponi and her husband Frank of Southbury; his sons, Karl Maseizik and his longtime companion Nancy (Max) Southwell of Oxford, and Christopher Maseizik of Oxford; his grandchildren, Melissa & Michael Hall, and Michael & James Crowther; Bump Bump to his great grandson, Evan “Ivan” Maza, his uncle, Raymond Fleischer, his lifelong friends, Roger Kuchera, Fred Dean, Russell Palmer, and Thomas Izzo, and many nieces and nephews.  Besides his beloved wife Adella Ann, he was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Pisacane.  Arrangements will be at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  The James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave. has been entrusted with arrangements.  A bereavement gathering for Fred Maseizik, on Sunday Jan 8 at the Oxford American Legion, 43 Oxford Rd. from 4 - 7 PM.  All are welcome.
