Leta A. Shortell, age 64 of Seymour, formerly of Shelton, passed away December 28, 2017 at Griffin Hospital, Derby.  Leta was born in Derby, July 4, 1953, daughter of the late Donald and Marie Mehaylo Shortell.  She was a graduate of Shelton High School, Class of 1971 and was employed as a customer service representative for Dresser Industries of Stratford.  She is survived by her brother, Brian Shortell and his wife Charlene, her sister, Donna Ferrier and her husband Paul, her niece, Brittany Shortell and her nephews, Donald Shortell and Brian Fette and his wife Tara, and her great nieces, Katelyn and Jenna Fette.  She is also survived by her step-nieces, Lisa Kiraly and Laurie Burstynski and her husband Gary, her step-nephew, Andrew Kiraly, and her dear friend Tanya Marek.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Jeffrey Shortell, her sister-in-law, Connie Shortell, and her step-nephew, Bobby Kiraly.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday January 5, 2018 at 11AM at St Mary Church, Derby.  Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery, Derby.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 191 Waukegan Rd., Ste. 105, Northfield, IL 60093.  The James T.
