Russell Edward Shimer, age 57 of Shelton, beloved husband of 33 years to Heather Pollock Shimer, passed away suddenly November 20, 2015 at Griffin Hospital, Derby. Russell was born in Beverly, MA, November 13, 1958, son of the late Robert McKinley and L. Jane Florey Shimer. Russell was currently employed as a warehouse manager for Meyers Supply of Naugatuck. He was a former Boy Scout Leader Troop 55 of Shelton, and a former member of the Sons of the American Legion Sutter-Terlizzi Post 16 of Shelton. He was a very caring man who will be dearly missed. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Rebecca Cauchon and her husband Mark of Shelton, and Brian Shimer of Shelton; his brothers, Robert W. Shimer of Georgia, and Kevin D. Shimer of Groveland, MA; his sister, Margaret J. Slocum of Amesbury, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, David E. Shimer and his brother, Richard A. Shimer. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 28th at 1 PM in the American Legion Sutter-Terlizzi Post 16, 295 Bridgeport Ave., Shelton, CT 06484. The James T.
