Albert "Al" Rourke, age 78 of Shelton, passed away September 21, 2025 at the West Haven VA Medical Center. He was born in West Hartford, June 6, 1947, son of the late James and Grace Kendrick Rourke. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served with the Seabees serving a tour of duty during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a general superintendent for OR&L Construction for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and a former member of the Knights of Columbus and Knights of Pythias. He was a car enthusiast and loved to watch his favorite TV shows Curse of Oak Island, Blue Bloods, and Hawaii 5-0. He is survived by his sons James Rourke (Laurel) and Thomas Rourke (Beth), his cat Cocoa, and his grand dogs Sebastian and Milo. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Edna McKinnon Rourke. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4pm to 8pm at the James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave., Shelton.
