Carmen Elizabeth Velez

Carmen Elizabeth Velez, of Beacon Falls, beloved wife of Matthew Walsh, passed away March 31, 2023.  Carmen was born in Honduras, daughter of the late Edilberto Velez Sanchez and Reina Galindo.  She worked for Medpath Partners of Trumbull in Medical Talent Acquisition.  Quick witted, full of sass, and with a vivacious energy that immediately made your day, she loved the beach, the mountains, flowers, and traveling the world.  Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and friends.  Besides her husband, she is survived by her step-children Sean and Alex Walsh, her brothers Osman Velez (Karla) and their children Carlos Ricardo and Valeria Alejandra, and Eduardo Alberto Velez (Elvia) and their children Emma Sofia and Eduardo Daniel.  Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 1PM to 4PM at the James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave., Shelton.  A Memorial Service will be held at 3PM during calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Smilow Cancer Center at Yale, 35 Park St., New Haven, CT 06519, or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
