Daniel L. DelVecchio

Daniel L. DelVecchio, age 67 of Seymour, beloved husband of 34 years to Elizabeth Callahan DelVecchio, passed away June 26, 2023 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.  Daniel was born in Bridgeport, May 12, 1956, son of the late Lawrence and Shirley Baker DelVecchio.  He was a graduate of Shelton High School, Class of 1976.  Daniel was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and proudly served on the USS Virginia.  He worked as a carpenter for Local 210 for many years until his retirement in 2013.  Daniel was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, and tending to his gardens and his chickens.  He was also an animal lover and will be missed by his loyal dog Mulligan and his crazy cat Sprinkles.  Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.  Besides his wife, Daniel is survived by his brothers Lee DelVecchio (Joni Lynn), Kevin DelVecchio (Cathy), Mark DelVecchio (Marie), and James DelVecchio, his sisters Karen Denton (Robert), and Alicia Grasso, his sister-in-law Martha Limauro (John), his brother-in-law Michael Callahan, Jr., and many nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Sheryl Williams, his brother-in-law and long time friend Mark Grasso, and his nephew Robert Denton, Jr.  All services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PETA, 501 Front St., Norfolk, VA 23510.  To leave condolences, please visit www.tooheyfuneralhome.com
