Dorothy M. Gill

Dorothy M. Gill, age 90 of Derby, formerly of Shelton, passed away July 14, 2022.  Dorothy was born in Derby, October 29, 1931, daughter of the late George and Anna Matika Rich.  She worked as a secretary for Avco Lycoming and Textron for many years until her retirement.  She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter #31 and Lady Martha Chapter of Monroe.  She was also Past Grand Ruth of the State of Connecticut Order of the Eastern Star.  She is survived by her children Dr. Christopher R. Gill and his wife Mariela and Dian Ostuno, her grandchildren Stephen R. Gill and his wife Melissa, Rebecca Gill (Matthew), Alejandra Gill, Monica Gill, and Joseph E. Ostuno, her great-grandchildren Azrael R. Gill and Christopher E. Gill, and many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Richard Gill, her siblings Barbara Rich-Shuster, Shirley Rich-Blankley, and George Rich, Jr.  Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 11AM at Riverside Cemetery, Shelton with Rev. Carlos A. Castrillón Castro officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  The James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave., Shelton has been entrusted with arrangements.
