Edward L. Reyen, age 76, died Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. He was born in Derby, son of the late Edward and Adeline Reyen, and was a Shelton resident all of his life. A graduate of the University of New Haven and the Culinary Institute of America, Mr. Reyen served as a Dietary Services Supervisor at the Griffin Hospital in Derby, and as Director of Dietary Services at the Jewish Home for the Elderly, retiring several years ago. He is survived by his nephew, Donald Bell of Niantic, and niece, Alisa Panfili of Massachusetts. Surviving also are a host of cousins and many dear friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Marianne Bell. Funeral services are Tuesday, at 9 a.m., from the James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Avenue, Shelton, and at 10:30 a.m., a Requiem High Mass in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church, 79 Church Street, Bridgeport, followed by burial at St. Michael's Cemetery, Derby. No calling hours will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church or to the National Shrine of St. John Neumann, 1019 North Fifth Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
