Elaine M. Macauda

Elaine M. Macauda, age 91 of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Santo “Sonny” Macauda, passed away June 24, 2018 at Griffin Hospital, Derby.  Elaine was born in Stratford, September 5, 1926, daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude Caldwell Jackson.  She worked as an Anesthesia Technician for Bridgeport Hospital for 30 years until her retirement.  She will be remembered for her love for her family and for the holidays with them.  She is survived by her daughter Elaine Vizzo, her grandchildren Jennifer Torraco and her husband Andrew and family, and Jessica Bernardini and her husband Scott, her great-grandson Gianluca Bernardini, her sister Janet Stowe and her husband Harvey, and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her beloved husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Constance Macauda, her brother Charles “Jackie” Jackson, Jr., her sister Bernice Phillip, and her son-in-law Edward A. Vizzo.  At the family’s request, all services will be private.  The James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave., Shelton has been entrusted with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
