Genevra B. Placek, age 87 of Cheshire, formerly of Shelton and St. Petersburg, FL, passed away Tuesday December 29, 2020 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Genevra was born in Cooperstown, NY, January 19, 1933, daughter of the late John E. and Wilma Curry Bloomer. During her life, Genevra worked at Sikorsky Aircraft as an inspector, United Aircraft Technologies as a training school instructor, and Tie Communications as a supervisor. She was a member of the Huntington Congregational Church, the Palm Lake Christian Church of St. Petersburg, FL, and the Pinelas Park Senior Group. She is survived by her children James Lester (Maryann Spagna), Terry Lester, Cheryl Magazian (Victor), Christine Lester, and Patricia Moore (Jeffrey), her daughter-in-law Susan Lester, her siblings Malcolm Bloomer (Brenda), and Kenneth Bloomer, her sister-in-law Lois Bloomer, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Placek, her son Wayne Lester, her daughter-in-law Sandra Lester, her siblings John Bloomer (Mary), Ernest Bloomer, Lillian Travis (Robert), Elaine More (Avery), and Velma Vibbard (Kenneth). Spring Interment will be held at Lawn Cemetery, Shelton at a date and time to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tribute Fund at Bassett Hospital, 1 Atwell Rd., Cooperstown, NY 13326. The James T.
