Janet A. Lovely, age 92 of Huntington, passed away peacefully June 5, 2025 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport. She was born in Pawtucket, RI, March 30, 1933, daughter of the late Joseph C. and Catherine McCoullough Lovely.
Jan worked for many years in the food service industry with her father and brother at Lovely’s Diner in Pawtucket, RI and later worked with her children and grandchildren at Center Deli in Shelton, CT. She also enjoyed sharing her passion for cooking by creating special meals in the numerous caregiving roles she held. Jan’s hobbies and interests showed her many unique talents, vitality and love of life. Her love of music was shared by singing with her sisters and square dancing. She was thrilled when she discovered her first library giving her a lifetime love of reading; taking her places beyond her imagination and feeding her insatiable passion for all things new; the latest trends, health info and of course new recipes. She celebrated her Irish heritage as a member of the Gaelic club in Fairfield. She enjoyed ceramics, being a den mother, hosting amazing parties and as a young mother spending summers with her children at Matunuck Beach. She took special joy in creating gourmet dishes for friends and family alike; well known for her “gramma drinks”. She loved politics and was ready for any debate. Most of all, her quick-witted sense of humor, strength of spirit, and love united our family.
She is survived by her children Carl V. Pearson, Janice A. Talevi (Nicholas), and Lynne V. Paulson, her grandchildren Raymond S. Paulson II (Chaienne), Christopher M. Paulson (Melissa), and Seth C. Pearson (Alyssa), her great-grandchildren Cole, Aurora, and Lyra, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her spouses Carl V. Pearson, Sr. and John W. Negrucci, and her son-in-law Raymond S. Paulson, her two brothers Robert Lovely and Joseph C. Lovely II, and her three sisters Catherine Smith, Eleanor Andersen, and Dorothy Lovely.
Mom, Grams, Great Gramma, Auntie, Friend, we will forever miss you and thank you for your many gifts.
