Janet Yachymczyk Obituary

Janet Olive Yachymczyk, 67 of Seymour, CT, passed away at her home on July 16,2022.
Janet was born on October 4, 1954, daughter of the late Felix and Carole Yachymczyk of Shelton, CT.
Janet lived with her parents in Shelton for 63 years until her mom's passing in 2018. Janet has since
resided in Seymour, CT with her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Michael Mazerolle.
Janet was special to so many, touching so many hearts. Janet brought Joy and smiles to everyone she
came in contact with. She was always happy, never forgetting anyone she met, always excited to see
family, friends and was especially fond of all children.
Janet's passion was attending her daily program at "Project Connect", in Shelton, CT.
Project Connect is a division of the Kennedy Center, for special need individuals. Janet has attended
there since 2017, At Project connect they do many activities, such as music, art, karaoke, baking and
outings in the community, all in which Janet had loved to do.
Prior to Project Connect, Janet attended and worked at George Hegyi Trainiing Center "VARCA," from
1971 to 2017. Janet loved attending summer camp at Camp Horizon's in South Windham every summer,
where she enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, canoeing, etc. Janet was also member of Saint
Joseph's Church where she attended the "Special Friends Religious Group" every month, prior to Covid.
Janet is predeceased by her parents Felix and Carole Yachymczyk and also her brother David
Yachymczyk.
Janet leaves behind her brothers and sisters, Michael Yachymczyk and wife JoAnn, Amanda Brister and
husband Bob, Brian Yachymczyk, Nancy Mazerolle and husband Michael, Tina Pitsch and husband
Charles. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Janet also leaves behind a very special person to her, Lyne Mazerolle whom she adored.
Family and Friends may call at James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave., Shelton, CT on Sunday July 24, 2022 from 3pm to 7pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Joseph Church, 50 Fairmont Pl., Shelton, CT on Monday July 25, 2022 at 10 am.
Burial with the immediate family will be at State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, CT at a later date.
