William J. Tichey, age 84 of Stratford, husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (Durk) Tichey, passed away July 9, 2013 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. William was born in Huntington November 14, 1928, son of the late Vincent and Agnes (Kaza) Tichey. William was a veteran and served his country with the US Army during the Korean War as a Corporal. After the Korean War, he was employed as a truck driver for O&G Industries of Bridgeport for many years until his retirement. He was an avid boat racer and he loved country dancing. He is survived by his loving companion, Beatrice Sniffen; two daughters; two granddaughters; and a sister. He was predeceased by a brother. A graveside service will be held Friday July 12 at 11 A.M. in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. There will be no calling hours. The JAMES T.
